Game of Thrones episode 2 ‘Stormborn’ was aired last night and things have taken a very interesting turn. Seems it won’t be so easy for Daenerys Targaryen to take the Iron Throne as Cersei is all prepared for her. Arya is heading to Winterfell, Jon Snow is headed to Dragonstone. A lot of new meetings are lined up for the upcoming episodes. Here are the 5 most important things we learned from the episode ‘Stormborn’.
A New Romance On The Cards?
Jon Snow and Daenerys have become the fan favorites ( George RR Martin, please ignore) since the last two seasons of Game of Thrones. Fans have been waiting for their meeting and possibly some fireworks. Now that Jon Snow is finally headed to Dragonstone to meet the Dragon Queen, it could possibly be their first blind date. Though Daenerys is now related to Jon Snow after the R+L=J theory was all but confirmed by the show-makers. But since when do we care about relations in Game of Thrones anyway (Jamie-Cersei, anyone?)
Cersei isn’t done yet
She is the survivor of the survivors and probably the most shrewd and ruthless mind in all of the seven kingdoms. Cersei Lannister has survived the High sparrow, her kid’s deaths, her shame walk and what not. She has seen it all. And if you thought that Danaerys will take her throne with ease, then you are wrong. She is still manipulating the people’s mind and intimidating them to join her side. With Qyburn on her side, she has an evil brain who knows how to counter any attack. Be it a dragon. So Cersei isn’t going anywhere without a fight.
Euron is the new Ramsay Bolton/Joffrey
Just when you thought that you are done with the super evil humans on Game of Thrones, comes Euron Greyjoy. In today’s episode, we saw how merciless and dangerous Euron Greyjoy is. In a single attack, he captured two of the 4 enemies of Cersei. Euron is super mean and with that evil grin on his face, all the Ramsay Bolton memories come back. Guess we will see a lot of deaths till Euron is alive (Someone please kill him).
Prince/Princess that was promised
Prince that was promised a.k.a the new Azor Ahai a.k.a the guy who will bring peace to entire Westeros by beating the White walkers is a much talked about theory amongst the fans. Till now we believed Jon Snow to be the prince who was promised because he was brought back from his death and he checks all the point to be the new potential Azor Ahai, but now Mellisandre has confused all of us. According to her, the prince can be a princess also. There is no gender. So Daenerys can also be the Prince. But as Mellisandre said, “I believe you have a role to play—as does another,” either one of them can be our secret weapon. Jon is a secret Targaryen and therefore probably has some fiery powers of his own.
Samwell Tarley is much more important than we actually thought
From being a useless nightwatchman, to killing a whitewalker, to becoming Jon Snow’s sidekick, Samwell Tarley’s journey is nothing short of spectacular. He is running his own errands in Citadel as he is working his wizardry on Jorah Mormont. And also he can be the key to winning the war against the white walkers. His character development has been superb and he definitely has a bigger role to play in the two upcoming wars. Also, he might, in the end, write his book ‘ The Song of Ice and Fire’.
